Made It To Muskoka

Jayne and I spent a day in Muskoka during my August vacation. A day of shopping, lunch with friends, touring around Lake Rosseau (on and off the water) ending with a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Segwun Steamship on Lake Muskoka. A beautiful night to be on the water. Here's are a couple of photos from the cruise. Hope you had a great summer!

Algonquin Park Trip - April 2013

I did another trip to Algonquin again earlier this year and never got around to posting some of my favourite photos from the trip. Enjoy!

Copeland Forest Outting

On Saturday May 21st, 2011 some members of the Barrie Photo Club ventured to the Copeland Forest (which is south of Hwy. 400, north of Horseshoe Valley Road, and east of Hwy 93). The trilliums were in full bloom and it was great day weather wise to take photographs. Enjoy!

Fall in Muskoka...Two of My Favourites

Yesterday I had a great day of shooting photos in Muskoka with my friends Tim and Yvonne. We started in Gravenhurst and ended up taking a ride (including a full turkey dinner lunch) on the Muskoka Steamship "RMS Segwun", North America's oldest operating steamship. After our cruise, we went to High Falls near Bracebridge where I shot Little High Falls - one of my favourtes. Then on to Windemere House, Muskoka's legendary resort on beautiful Lake Rosseau. What a fantastic day to view the fall colours, do some photography with friends and spend time in Muskoka. Enjoy and have a great Thanksgiving!

My Fall Photo Drive

Wow!!! Look at me, 2 days of using my camera in the past 3 days. I love this time of year. I didn't find a lot of fall colour to shoot though, but I still have 7 days of vacation to go. Enjoy!

In Search of Budd Watson

Yesterday I went to Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park with some friends. We had a great time hiking the north end of the island and taking photographs. In light of my recent research into the life and work of Budd Watson (the late prominent Canadian photographer from Midland, Ontario), I was so excited to do this trip. I kept walking around the island, wondering if at sometime during his life Mr. Watson had walked this island taking some of his amazing photos. As I scouted out photo ops and set up some shots, I kept asking myself, "What would Budd do?". I know the answer to that question is that he'd take way better photos than me. Here's a few of shots that I took. Enjoy!

Trip to the Big Chute Marine Railway

Today I took a ride to the Big Chute Marine Railway which is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway. It is amazing how they move these large boats from one level of water to the other. Enjoy!

Scott Kelby's 3rd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk

Today I participated in one of the worldwide photo walks, this one based in Barrie and led by a friend, Chris O'Driscoll. There were alot of Barrie Photo Club members out and one even brought his "sherpa" to carry all of his gear. (Nice Bill, where do I get one of those?) Here are some photos I took. Enjoy!
